Moral Litter

Organic matter in the right place is far from trash.

Once broken down it: holds water, improves air circulation, nurtures microbes that feed plants, buffers pH and keeps pathogens in check.

Organic matter also provides the resources for soil’s building blocks: aggregates of minerals, bacteria, fungi, worm poop, and bits of dead bugs. It is the key ingredient in good soil structure.

And once all of the nutrients are digested, the end product is humus - a stable carbon sink when left undisturbed. Sounds like a win to me.

*Use ya head, don’t litter where you clearly shouldn’t.
