Compaction Action

I come across an ignorance of compaction far too often in my work.

It is rarely understood how significantly trees can be impacted by development. Often we don’t start to see the effects of compaction on a tree for 5-10 years, so when beloved trees begin to decline in health, owners don’t draw the connection that it was them who caused the tree this harm.

Plus, if you plant a tree into an already compacted landscape, the end result will be a tree with a poor root system, poor appearance, short life, and a good chance of falling on your home.

Even repeated foot traffic can compact soil enough to cause harm, so please think twice when driving your car over a landscape.

For any construction works near an existing tree, please ensure you engage a qualified and passionate arborist for advice.
